Is GetMeAudio free to try?
Yes. Short previews of the real cloud voices are free within an allowance, and voice samples are free. The finished download is paid per minute.
What is the Device-Voice Draft tool?
An optional tool under Tools that plays your script with a voice built into your browser or device. It is instant and free, and it is for checking wording and pacing without using preview time.
What is a preview?
A preview plays a short clip of your own text in the real cloud voice, the same voice and engine you would download, so you know what you are buying.
Is the preview lower quality than the download?
No. Previews are full quality. They are limited by length, about 30 seconds per clip, not by quality, and there is no watermark.
How much can I preview?
Without an account you get a couple of short clips. Once you sign in you get about 5 minutes of new audio a day, about 15 minutes a week and about 25 minutes a month (a clip that crosses a limit still plays in full), with clips of up to about 30 seconds. Those are Standard-voice minutes; Natural voices use the allowance about 1.7× faster. Replaying audio you already previewed is free.
Do I need an account to try it?
No. You can browse voices, hear free samples and play a couple of short previews without signing in. You need an account for the daily preview allowance and to download.
Why does the Device-Voice Draft tool sound different from the preview?
It uses a voice already on your device, so its quality depends on your phone or computer. The preview and download use cloud voices.
Is there a limit on the Device-Voice Draft tool?
There is no daily quota. A single draft plays up to about 5,000 characters, which is enough to check timing.
How long can my script be?
A script can be up to 50,000 characters.
Are voice samples free?
Yes. Every one of the 938 voices has a free sample you can play without signing in.
Does previewing use my AudioMinutes?
No. Previews come from a separate preview allowance and never use your balance.
