GetMeAudio GetMeAudio

Open-source notices

GetMeAudio is built on open-source software. This page lists the components that are delivered to your browser, their licences, and where to get their source code.

FFmpeg (audio processing in your browser)

When you download or combine audio, your browser runs FFmpeg, compiled to WebAssembly, to mix voice and music and encode MP3 or WAV files. This software uses libraries from the FFmpeg project (https://ffmpeg.org) under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 2.1 or later (LGPL-2.1-or-later). It is not endorsed by or affiliated with the FFmpeg project.

The WebAssembly build we serve is our own LGPL-only build: FFmpeg n5.1.4 and the LAME MP3 encoder (LGPL), with no GPL code and no video encoders. It is built from the glue code of ffmpeg.wasm (commit `71aa99d3`, the `@ffmpeg/core` 0.12.10 release).

  • Corresponding source code and build recipe: https://github.com/GetMeAudio/getmeaudio-ffmpeg-wasm-source. Each release there contains the exact `ffmpeg-core.js` and `ffmpeg-core.wasm` we serve, the FFmpeg and LAME source, and checksums; the same checksums are published next to the files we serve, at https://getmeaudio.com/ffmpeg-core/lgpl-1/SHA256SUMS.txt. The current build is https://github.com/GetMeAudio/getmeaudio-ffmpeg-wasm-source/releases/tag/ffmpeg-core-lgpl-0.12.10-1. For a copy on physical or other media, or if any link here is unavailable, email support@getmeaudio.com and we will provide it.
  • Replacing the library: the FFmpeg module is a separate, unobfuscated `.wasm` and `.js` pair loaded by the page as ordinary files. You can rebuild it from the source above and use your own copy in place of ours.
  • Licence text: LGPL-2.1 at https://www.gnu.org/licenses/old-licenses/lgpl-2.1.html.
  • No warranty: FFmpeg is provided without warranty, as set out in that licence.
  • The FFmpeg module runs separately from the rest of the GetMeAudio site. This licence applies to FFmpeg and its libraries, not to your scripts or the audio you create.

FFmpeg JavaScript wrapper

The JavaScript that loads and talks to FFmpeg (`@ffmpeg/ffmpeg`) is licensed under the MIT licence by the ffmpeg.wasm contributors.

Other components

Other libraries bundled in the site (for example React and Hono) are distributed under permissive licences such as MIT. Email support@getmeaudio.com if you need the full list.
