Device-Voice Draft: Fine-Tune Your Script with Free Device Voices
Paste your script, play it with a voice built into your device, and adjust the wording and pauses until the timing feels right. Then send it to the editor to hear and download it in a real studio voice. Also called a pacing check.
Voices come from your device and vary between devices. For checking pacing and edits only; it will not sound like your downloaded voiceover.

What this is for, and what it is not
The voices come from your own device or browser, so they differ from one phone or computer to the next, and some devices have few or no voices. That is why this is a pacing check, not a preview of your finished audio. It will not sound like your downloaded voiceover. For the real sound, send the script to the editor and use Preview.
Pauses and the editor
Pause tags such as <break time="1s"/> are played as silences here and travel with your script when you send it to the editor, so your edits are not lost. Speed set on this page applies only here; choose the speed for the final voice in the editor.
Cost
This tool runs in your browser. Your text is not uploaded and nothing is billed. Device voices are free and unlimited. Downloads of the finished studio voice are billed from prepaid AudioMinutes: $0.15 per minute for Standard voices and $0.25 per minute for Natural voices.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my device voice sound different from the final audio?
Device voices are built into your phone, browser or operating system and vary between devices. The studio voices in the editor are cloud voices. Use this page to check pacing and wording, and Preview in the editor to hear the real voice.
I hear no voice, or an error. What should I do?
Some browsers and devices have no speech voices installed or block them until you tap a button. Try another voice from the list, another browser, or skip straight to Preview in the editor.
Is it really free and unlimited?
Yes. It runs on your device, needs no account and is never billed.
Is my script uploaded?
No. Playback happens in your browser. The script only moves when you press Send to Editor, and then only to your own editor session on this device.
